Day 01: Arrive Delhi
Arrival at Delhi. Meeting and assistance at the airport by our company representative and transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Delhi.
Day 02: Delhi-Varanasi (By Flight)
Arrive Varanasi, followed by meeting and assistance at the airport and transfer to hotel. Later excursion to Sarnath - where the Buddha preached his first sermon in the Deer Park. The Deer Park contains the most impressive remains, as well as a modern temple. Night stay in Varanasi.
Day 03: Varanasi
Early morning,visit the sacred river Ganges before sunrise, to see how the Hindus of Varanasi pray to the rising Sun and to the river Ganges. Then enjoy a boat ride on the Ganges and cremation grounds from the boat. Return to your hotel for breakfast and relax. Afternoon, visit Bharat Mata Temple, Durga Temple, Manash Temple, Hanuman Temple, Birla (Shiva) Temple, the Golden Temple. In the evening, enjoy Ganga Aarti. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 04:Varanasi – Bodhgaya (255 kms)
Morning,drive to Bodhgaya & transfer to hotel. Bodhgayais the place of the Buddha's Enlightenment. Bodhgaya is the spiritual home of Buddhists.Situated near the river Niranjana, it is one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage centres because it was here that Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree.Night stay in Bodhgaya.
This morning,after breakfast,visit Bodhi Tree, Mahabodhi Temple, Niranjana River, Sujata Village. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 06:Bodhgaya - Ragjir - Nalanda – Patna (110 kms)
After breakfast, drive to Patna, enroute sightseeing of Nalanda & Rajgir. Rajgir is surrounded by the meandering river Banganga and 5 hills. It was the capital of the powerful Magadhan kingdom, ruled by the virtuous King Bimbisara. The hills and caves surrounding Rajagriha were home to spiritual teachers, ranging from the materialism of the early Charavaka school to the metaphysics of Upanishadic philosophers. Like many others in search of truth, Prince Siddhartha, after he renounced his royal heritage came to this city to seek the path of enlightenment. Then proceed to Nalanda. Nalanda was the most renowned university in ancient India. It derived its name from Na-alam-da, meaning insatiable in giving, one of the names by which the Lord Buddha was known. Afterwards, arrive in Patna and transfer to hotel.Night stay in Patna.
Day 07: Patna –Kushinagar (237 kms)
After breakfast,drive to Kushinagar, Kushinagar is where the Buddha finally attained Mahaparinirvana. Amongst the ruins are the Mukutbandhan Stupa and a beautiful statue of the reclining Buddha. Enroute,visit Vaishali. Lord Buddha visited Vaishali frequently and at Kolhua, close by, preached his last sermon. To commemorate the event, Emperor Ashoka, in the third century B.C., erected one of his famous lion pillars here. A hundred years after the Mahaparinirvana of the Buddha,Vaishali hosted the second great Buddhist council. Two stupas were erected to commemorate this event. Arrive Kushinagar and transfer to hotel. Night stay in Kushinagar.
Day 08: Kushinagar- Lumbini(141 kms)
After breakfast,visit the Mahaparinirvana Temple, Maya Temple, Ashok Pillar and Stupas. Later,drive to Lumbini and transfer to hotel. Lumbini is the birthplace of the Buddha. It was located in 1890 after being untraced for 1,500 years. Evening, sightseeing tour of Lumbini including a visit to the birth place of Lord Buddha.Night stay in Lumbini.
Day 09: Lumbini-Sravasti(224 kms)
After breakfast,drive to Sravasti - the capital of the ancient kingdom of Kosala. It has the honour of sheltering Buddha for 24 rainy seasons in the Jetvana Gardens. The city,believed to be founded by the mythological king Sravast, has age-old stupas, majestic monasteries and several temples. Buddha is said to have performed some miracles here. In Sravasti, visit Saheth Maheth & Jetvan(remains of an ancient monastery). Night stay in Sravasti.
Day 10: Sravasti - Lucknow–Agra (By Train)
After breakfast, drive to Lucknow and transfer to railway station to board air conditioned train to Agra. Arrive Agra, get picked up from railway station & transferred to hotel. Night stay in Agra.
Day 11: Agra – Sankassa – Agra
Morning,after breakfast, prooced for day excursion to Sankasa to visit the statue of Buddha, Shiva Linga, etc. After completing the day excursion, come back to Agra in the evening, Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 12 Agra – Delhi(230 kms)
This morning,after breakfast,visit the world famous Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world and surely the most extravagant expression of love ever created. 20,000 men laboured for over 17 years to build this memorial of Shah Jahan's beloved wife. Also visit the Agra fort - the rusty and majestic red-sandstone fort of Agra stands on the banks of the river Yamuna. The construction was started by Emperor Akbar in 1566. At the Diwan-I-Am (hall of public audience), the Emperor heard public petitions. Evening, drive to Delhi and check in to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 13: Delhi
After breakfast,proceed for sightseeing tour of New Delhi where ornate buildings recall the days when India was the Jewel in the crown of the British Empire. Visit the 11th century Qutab Minar, India Gate and the grand government buildings, the President’s House and Mahatama Gandhi Memorial. Also visit Laxmi Narayan temple,popularly known as Birla Temple. Afternoon, visit Old Delhi, the 17th century walled city of Shah Jahanabad. Visit Jama Masjid, the principal mosque of Old Delhi,built in the year 1656 AD by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. It is the largest and the best known mosque in India. Later,walk down through Chandi Chowk, the old marketplace of Shah Jahanabad,now a picturesque bazaar, to reach Red Fort. It was built in the year 1648 by Shah Jehan. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 14: Delhi Departure
Morning,after breakfast, day free for shopping. Then transfer to international airport to board your flight for onward destination.
